Romans 14:13 -15:2 // October 20th, 2024

Teaching overview

This week’s teaching was on Romans 14:13-15:2 In this text, Riley taught about how divisions are inevitable and sometimes are not necessarily bad. It is vital for spiritual growth that we love across the boundaries of the divisions we may have in the church. We as a church are on the pathway and on that path, we have belivers who are skilled hikers (the strong) and not skilled hikers (the weak, or frail). The strong need to slow down for the weak and allow them to get stronger along the way to Love in the Kingdom of God.

Our prayer for your Community

Our prayer for you this week is that we see others with grace and compassion, refraining from judgment. Help us to act in ways that nurture peace and harmony in our community.

Group questions

  1. How is God speaking to you through this passage or idea? (Seek)

  2. In what specific ways can you follow Jesus into deeper faith in light of this passage? (Practice)

  3. How can we as a group support you in living out what we’ve discussed this week? (Mission)

For further meditation…

  1. How I can refrain from passing judgment on others and instead focus on building up the community in love. How can my actions promote unity?

  2. Think about how my choices might affect the faith of others. Am I being considerate of their spiritual well-being?

  3. Consider how my actions align with the priorities of the Kingdom—righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit—rather than personal preferences. What can I do to strengthen relationships with believers who I do not see eye to eye with?
