Romans 14:1-13 // October 13th, 2024

Teaching overview

This week’s teaching was on Romans 14:1-13 In this text, Riley taught; In the family of God, believers come from diverse backgrounds, with Jews and Gentiles carrying different cultural practices into their faith in Christ. Instead of judging or hindering each other's journeys, we should welcome one another, trusting that God will guide and strengthen everyone along the same path toward Him.

Our prayer for your Community

Our prayer for you this week is that the Lord will help us to embrace and welcome one another, knowing that we come from different backgrounds and journeys in our faith. We live and gather around Jesus as our king.

Group questions

  1. How is God speaking to you through this passage or idea? (Seek)

  2. In what specific ways can you follow Jesus into deeper faith in light of this passage? (Practice)

  3. How can we as a group support you in living out what we’ve discussed this week? (Mission)

For further meditation…

  1. Reflect on areas where you might have judged others based on personal convictions. Have you allowed your opinions to create division or disharmony in your relationships with fellow believers?

  2. Consider how often I fall into the trap of assuming I have the right to judge others' decisions. Do I trust God to be the righteous judge in the lives of those around me, or do I try to take that role myself?

  3. How can I align my daily choices, decisions, and attitudes more closely with living for the Lord? How can this mindset foster a deeper connection with Him and a more genuine expression of faith?
