Working on staff at a church is a privilege and honor, as well as a challenge. The job of the staff is to carry out the vision of the Elders by equipping the church family for the work of ministry.

OVERVIEW
The mission of Mountlake Church is to see those broken by sin renewed by Jesus Christ. A “director” (or in the Bible, a “deacon”) is someone who is appointed to lead a certain ministry or service to the local church. The worship director’s ministry is congregational worship during Sunday and other gatherings.

Yearning for the presence of God, especially when the church gathers
Vision for the intersection of theology, formation, music, and life
Organizational capacity, detail-oriented, problem-solving skills
Collaborative, positive, and serving attitude
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
1-2 years of experience leading corporate worship
Knowledge and experience with sound equipment (sound board, speakers, amplifiers, etc.)
Previous experience with leading and shepherding a team
ROLE SUMMARY
The Worship Director fosters a culture of worship at Mountlake Church that overflows from our Sunday gatherings into all of life. He or she oversees congregational worship during various gatherings, recruits and develops Mountlake Worship leaders and musicians, coordinates our ongoing relationship with Mountlake Music, and the overall pool of songs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee congregational worship during gatherings
For Mountlake Church on Sunday Mornings
Coordinate worship team in PCO in collaboration with Operations Director and Production, maintaining the schedule at least six weeks in advance
Play and/or lead worship at least 3x/month
For Mountlake Youth
Help recruit and develop youth worship leaders and musicians
Help coordinate worship team in PCO in collaboration with ministry director, maintaining the schedule at least 4 weeks in advance
For Mountlake Young Adults
Help recruit and develop young adult worship leaders and musicians
Help coordinate worship team in PCO in collaboration with ministry director, maintaining the schedule at least 4 weeks in advance
Be willing and available to play or lead as needed
Recruit and develop worship leaders and musicians
Coach worship leaders in how to lead teams and congregational worship in a way that embodies the values and culture of Mountlake Church
Coach worship leaders and musicians in their discipleship to Jesus
Regularly recruit and onboard new musicians
Cast vision and build united community among the Mountlake Worship team
Oversee Mountlake Music and song pool
Foster growth and vision of Mountlake Music in collaboration with Lead Pastor and Mountlake Music director
Collaborate with Mountlake Music director and musicians on writing original songs, arranging productions, and singing original songs in Sunday gatherings
Edit and maintain a pool of songs quarterly in collaboration with Lead Pastor and worship leaders, including new songs produced by Mountlake Music
Schedule: Flexible, with some fixed times (Sundays, staff meetings, and others as needed)
Location: Mountlake Church | Mountlake Terrace
Hours: 40+ hours per week
