Multiply Updates
The Multiply campaign is an "above and beyond" initiative that the Mountlake Family undertakes each year. In December 2024, we invited our church community to actively participate in what God is doing by dedicating all our resources toward embodying kingdom realities. Every dollar given is directly supporting several projects, enabling us to extend our reach into the community and continue the work of ministry here in Mountlake Terrace.
Our goal was to raise $150,000, and we raised $106,000!
While we didn’t reach our full goal, we are deeply grateful for the generosity of our church family. We're already hard at work on several projects funded through this campaign, eager to see the impact unfold.
Updates on the projects below
1. Special Needs Ministry
This ministry will provide a safe, nurturing, and caring environment for children with special needs, enabling their families to fully engage in worship and community life. It’s not just about creating a space—it’s about transforming how these families experience church, offering them a deeper sense of belonging and support.
So far, we have:
Held an interest meeting to rally volunteers.
Created forms for families and volunteers to begin the ministry process.
Started renovating the space (cleared out the room, painted, etc.).
Prayed—a lot.
We still need to:
Find a volunteer lead to manage the week-to-week operations of the ministry.
Purchase equipment for the room, assemble the furniture, and set up the space.
2. LoveMLT
In Mountlake Terrace, many programs address homelessness, hunger, and poverty, but none offered subsidized counseling—until Mountlake Church stepped up. Through LoveMLT, we’ve been meeting this vital need for two years, helping low-income individuals from our church and community access mental health care.
In 2024, 15 people received counseling through this program, and this year, we aim to double that impact. Counseling with a trained professional can be transformative, aligning with discipleship to Jesus by addressing past struggles and embracing renewal, as Paul encourages: “Be transformed by the renewal of your mind.”
Through LoveMLT, we are eagerly praying that its participants will overcome barriers, find healing, and join our church family in following Jesus toward a renewed life.
So far, we have:
Renovated the website and streamlined the application process.
Applied for 501(c)(3) status to establish LoveMLT as its own non-profit organization.
3. New Chairs and Bathrooms
The church is a people, not a building—but the space where we gather can reflect God’s hospitality. While we don’t need flashy lights or an LED wall, we do want to honor God by updating parts of our church that have reached the end of their life cycle.
Our chairs and bathrooms, in particular, show decades of wear. The chairs, purchased in 1996, are heavily used and often repaired, and our bathrooms remain unchanged since the building’s days as a grocery store.
Though non-essential to ministry, replacing these will create a warmer, more welcoming space for our church family and guests alike.
So far, we have:
Purchased our new chairs! Delivery date is Wednesday, February 26th.
Completed preliminary designs for our new bathrooms.
Receive the chairs, set them up, and donate our old chairs.
Purchase the new stalls, paint, lights, and flooring.
Schedule times for tearing out the existing bathroom structures.
Build a strong volunteer team to assist with the physical labor.
We still need to:
Projects we weren’t able to fund for
Global Aid to Spain
Short film project
Action items:
Pray for Jordan and Chelsea.
Give directly to their ministry
Join the Pacific Parable team to help us complete our second film and be part of future projects
